Welcome to the JRHS NJROTC Raiders Team! This team is for Cadets who are in top physical condition and regularly put forth their best effort in PT. Although normally an Army JROTC-based team, Raiders has been one of our best performing teams and instills in Cadets a strong sense of teamwork and camraderie.

What is Raiders? Raiders is the next level of physical fitness training. Cadets will work as a team to complete a series of events in the fastest time possible. These events include the Army Physical Fitness Test, rope Bridge (see pictures), vehicle pull, fireman’s carry, orienteering, litter carry, and a 5k run.

When does this team practice and compete? Raiders practice starts at 0530 every Tuesday and Thursday morning and ends before the start of school. Competitions (most often against Army JROTC units) take place in the fall and spring.

How does this team stack up? Unfortunately, due to the fact that Raiders is an Army-based team, the competitions do not contribute to our annual Area 5 standings. However, our team is quite competitive against Army units and brings a lot of outside attention to our unit. In addition, Raiders team members who also participate on our PT team do very well in Field meets. (To see how we’re doing this year, click here).

What awards can I get for participation on this team? Raiders on the team will receive the unit’s Raiders cord and are eligible to receive Army-issued ribbons for competitions.

How do I join? Talk to Raiders Team Leaders (Cadet Velzy and/or Cadet Hayden) for more information.
