On Saturday, 11 February, the JRHS NJROTC Drill Team traveled to Lee-Davis High School to compete in the Lee-Davis Drill Meet. Hoping to end off the season on a high note, the cadets put forth a good showing, gaining points in Uniform Personnel Inspection and placing third in Armed Basic and Second in Color Guard. Despite some difficulties involving scoring, which were rectified with the help of cadets Willett and Popp, the meet ran well and the cadets enjoyed themselves. Whether or not our unit makes it to Area Five Championships at this point, we can certainly say that this season was a good one! Hoorah, cadets! Job well done!
On February 4th, JRHS NJROTC drill team traveled to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek/Fort Story in Norfolk to compete in the Princess Anne Cavalier Drill Meet. Held at the same venue used for Area 5 Drill Championships, the team placed sixth against 10 other top tier teams, including three teams who placed in Nationals last year. Although our teams did not bring home any trophies, Armed Exhibition gained 16 points in the two-event tally, while Armed Standard matched their best score for the season! Hoorah, cadets! Job well done!
